It's Not The Equipment...

In most of the photography forums I read, there is a long running debate between photographers that think equipment is the key to creating great images and photographers that think technique and skill is the key. Although the answer probably lies somewhere between these two points of view, I tend to believe in the latter. As a photographer, I consider technique and skill paramount to creating compelling images. In other words... It’s not the equipment that makes an image; it’s how the photographer uses the equipment.
Along the same line of thought, Rob Galbraith posted an article on his web site back in 2005 detailing how Alex Majoli, a freelance photojournalist, uses high end prosumer digital point-and-shoot cameras to create his images. This article is written by Eamon Hickey and is titled, Alex Majoli Points and Shoots. I found it to be both interesting and refreshing. Here are the URLs:
